Marcos Gabriel Millan Agorio

BIO: Dr Marcos Millan graduated as a Chemical Engineer from the University of the Republic of Uruguay in 2001. In 2005, he completed his PhD on “Catalytic Hydrocracking and Characterisation of Heavy Hydrocarbons Liquids” in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College, which he joined as a lecturer in 2006. He is currently a Reader in the same Department and his research interests focus on gasification of solid fuels, production of liquid fuels from biomass pyrolysis, and heavy oil upgrading and characterisation. His current projects include oxyfuel co-gasification of coal and biomass in a fluidised bed; tar abatement in downdraft biomass gasification; and upgrading of heavy oils in supercritical water.
Mingming Zhang

BIO: Prof. Zhang Mingming is the director of the Institute of Innovative Technology for Green and Low-Carbon Energy at the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Automation, Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen). He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the Hundred Talents Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He also serves as an expert of the State Key R&D Program of China, the Vice Chairman of the Wind Power Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society, the Vice Chair of the New Energy Technologies Subcommittee of the IEEE PES, and an Associate Editor of the journal Renewable Energy. His research interests include flow control and innovative design of large wind turbine blades, high-reliability wind turbine generator design, and smart wind farms. Prof. Zhang has led many national and international research projects, including the 863 Program, the Key R&D Program, and the NSFC grants. He has published over 210 papers in top-tier journals and conferences, including over 60 SCI-indexed papers, and holds more than 20 patents. He has received numerous awards and honors, such as the AIAA Young Scholar Award, the Excellent Award of the Hundred Talents Program Final Review, the Second Prize of the National Energy Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize of the Contribution to Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the First Prize of the China Energy Innovation Award, the Second Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Award, the Second Prize of the China Electric Power Technology Progress Award, the Wu Zhonghua Excellent Young Scholar Award, and the Science and Technology Person of the Year Award of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society.
Deyou Yang

BIO: Prof. Deyou Yang received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Northeast Electric Power University in 2009 and received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from North China Electric Power University in 2014. His research focuses on the operation, analysis, and control of new-type power system. He is a high-level talent in Heilongjiang Province, an outstanding innovative talent in Jilin Province, and a young top talent with significant contributions in Jilin City. He was awarded the one first prize and one second prize in provincial scientific and technological progress awards, respectively. As the project leader, he has completed 2 NSFC projects and 1 sub-subject of National Key R&D Project. He authored and coauthored more than fifty peer-reviewed publications in journals. Prof. Yang is the youth editorial board member of the Electric Power Construction, Integrated Intelligent Energy and Electric Power Information and Communication Technology.

BIO: Jingsong Li, male, Doctor of Engineering, Associate Professor, works in School of Electrical Engineering, Dalian University of Technology. He is a member of the 9th Committee of the Electromagnetic Measurement Information Processing Instrument Branch of China Instrumentation Society, a Young Expert of Shandong Province Science and Technology Expert Database, Vice President of Science and Technology (temporary) and deputy director of R&D center of Lute Electric Co., LTD, and Postdoctoral Fellow from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, during 2017-2019.
He is mainly engaged in the research of renewable energy storage grid-connected control and advanced manufacturing of electrical equipment. Selected as Outstanding Young Scientific and Technological Talents of Liaoning Province in 2022. He is a Professor with the State Key Laboratory of Synthetical Automation for Process Industries at Northeastern University, Shenyang, China. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Civil Engineering at Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, FL, USA, an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA, USA, and a Visiting Professor of Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratory (MERL), Cambridge, MA, USA. His research interests include reinforcement learning, adaptive dynamic programming (ADP), optimal control, cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC), intelligent transportation systems, sampled-data control systems, and output regulation theory. Prof. Gao is the recipient of the best paper award in IEEE Data Driven Control and Learning Systems (DDCLS) Conference in 2023, IEEE International Conference on Real-time Computing and Robotics (RCAR) in 2018 and the David Goodman Research Award at New York University in 2019.
